1. The Tale of the Bilderwildered It was late in august, a warm summer's eve When suddenly our mom started to grieve “What is the matter?” Aj Asked. Your dear aunt Gertrude suddenly passed. “Oh frick”, AJ yelled with a terrible cry “What caused our aunt to suddenly die” Maddys face became quite grim She knew what trouble was about to begin. What would happen to cousin Jerome This poor youngish boy could not be alone. He had a bulbous nose and bowl cut hair And eyes that sent shivers with only a stare. Suddenly, we heard a knock at the door A knock so loud, we were sent to the floor Jerome Our mother shrieked dear god why me?! How could our life become this crappy. The door swung open and there stood a man Who was caucasian and french, but not part of the plan 2. The Night Jerome Came Home He yelled “hi cuz” with an odd joy How could he be so happy, the peculiar boy. “Hey Jerome,” we all said grimly Maddy smiled, but only dimly Mom offered the room that was meant for a guest But, soon this would come his permanent address. “Kids, there something that I’d like you to know” “Poor Jerome has nowhere to go” Maddy was mad “how could you do this to me” AJ said “that’s just the way it will be” It was late at night, so they got ready for bed. Jerome was so happy, yet his mother was dead. We all went to bed, but Jerome went outside He repeatedly went down our childhood slide. Jerome took a ride on AJ’s favorite scooter But little did he know, AJ was skilled with a pea shooter The ruckus woke maddy, and she was quite angry “Please stop with all this hanky panky” AJ got mad and left with a fuss To join the scooter gang and do what he must. 3. AJ Joins the Scooter Gang He rode all night on a quest for destiny When he was approached by the gang leader, Bethany “So you want to join the gang?” she said with a smile “That sounds pretty good.” And they rode for miles. He suddenly heard his name in the distance Damn this guy had a lot of persistence Aj explained who he was to the girl When they made eye contact she started to twirl Aj called maddy “okay this is weird” Maddy said this is what she had feared The couple rode towards a beautiful sunrise The pretty girl and him what a surprise The silhouette kissed like a scene from a movie This was the opposite of something groovy AJ was jealous, but how could he be For Jerome was far far far uglier than he Maddy went home so she could go to bed And AJ just stood there, staring ahead 4. Jerome’s Pretty Woman AJ sat there, seething with rage As Maddy read a book, turning the page Jerome looked so happy, a tear in his eye Bethany then noticed his very large sty “How repulsive,” Bethany thought Then behind her she heard a very light cough “Hey,” AJ said. “What’s poppin’ Champ?” Her face lit up like a kerosene lamp Maddy at home sensed something was wrong Jerome had just screamed for 3 minutes long “What’s the matter,” Maddy asked full of regret “My lady has dumped me,” he said with cold sweat “A lady you say, are you sure you weren’t dreaming” “Yes I promise our love had true meaning” “AJ’s still out? That is quite strange!” Leaving the house was quite a huge change 5. AJ Replaces Jerome Yes it was true, the news was official Jerome’s relationship was just artificial When the town woke up there was love in the air Jerome just screamed this isn’t fair AJ and Bethany had sealed their love A relationship so perfect, it fit like a glove Together they ran on the beach like some seagulls Jerome laid at home hating all people Maddy was confused, what had just happened” Aj walked in, Jerome gave ‘im a slappin’” Aj was shocked, Bethany grabbed a broom Everyone knew Jerome was doomed Jerome ran upstairs and cried himself to sleep Bethany also began to weep What is happening Maddy asked fearfully? We are in love AJ said cheerfully. 6. Maddy Breaks a leg The next day arrived, Jerome still a hater “I have hip hop ballet, see you squares later”. Maddy leapt out of the house dazed and confused Suddenly she forgot how to land on her shoes. Bethany should’ve caught her it would have been easy But suddenly she felt very very sneezy Aj yelled caught her now! Not before her leg hit the snow plow Now why’s there a snowplow in the middle of august? No one knew but we gave our best guess Bethany felt and began to run away As if this couldn’t be a more horrible day Aj went to catch her but then he realized, if you love something set it free Then he saw Maddy with blood all over her knee “We have to go to the hospital, you’re definitely broken” This wasn’t the kind of day Maddy would’ve chosen 7. I never feared Hamsters, until today. I actually used to love hamsters. My main problem always has been that my mother would not let me get one. I cried and I begged. I took care of multiple house plants trying to prove I was responsible. I’m sure my mom appreciated my help, but she still never budged on getting me one. I offered to have a hamster be my only Christmas present or my only Birthday present, still nothing. It really blew my mind how anti-hamster she was, but now I fully understand and I wish I would have just listened to her. My best friend was going on vacation and asked me to watch her hamster. As you could imagine I was ecstatic. I had to beg and plead to my mom, but she caved. “How bad could it be” she said “it’ll only be a weekend”. Spoiler alert, it was worse than I ever could have imagined. My friend dropped off her hamster Alan at 3pm on her way to the airport. He was so cute, I still didn’t understand what my mom’s problem was. I played with him for a while and put him in my room and let him wander around in his hamster ball until he was too tired to walk again. So I put the tiny tan fluff ball back into his cage and he snuggle up in the corner of his cage a fell asleep. I went to go tell my mom how amazing having a hamster is and that I totally should be allowed to get one. I swear I have never seen more fear and sorrow in her face than when she said “just wait”. I went back into my room to check on Alan and I noticed that he spelled my name in food. I brushed it off, “I must be seeing things” I thought to myself, but I was tired and it was a long day so I let it slide and let Alan sleep. My mom noticed I wasn’t quite myself and offered to watch a movie with me. I watch the movie until I heard rusting from my bedroom, “that’s weird” I thought, no one could be in my room. I went to check on Alan. He wasn’t there, this time good luck was written on my mirror in lipstick. It was so weird the hamster was so tiny, he couldn't have done that alone. Alone, the hamster was alone right. I had millions of thoughts raising in my head, not aided by a faint chatter of squeaks. Squeaks as in plural. I thought that I must have been psyching myself out. My mom just made them see villanish, they were fine right? WRONG! My mind was going to fast, I was overwhelmed, where is the hamster(s) and how did he write good luck on my mirror and why? I screamed. I wish I could explain how my blood started to feel cold and my head went foggy. I saw out of the corner of my eye a black fluff ball, Alan wasn’t black. I saw out of the corner of my other eye a white ball of fluff, not Alan. Before I knew it I could see at least 2 dozen hamsters. Finally my mother came into my room, pale and sweating she choked the words out ‘RUN!”. I wish I could run like I did that day but the pure adrenaline and fear of my hamster ridden room drove me into olympic quality running. My mom was cursing under her breath saying that she knew this was a bad idea and that hamsters never change. “Never change” I thought to myself, “there must be a backstory here”. “Mom” I squeaked, “is this why you wanted to keep me away from hamsters?”. She looked at me with tears in her eyes. “Yes. You loved them so much I didn’t want to ruin them for you.” I was angry, she should've just told me. I don’t want to love something inherently evil! “You should've just told me!” I said with frustration. She had tears in her eyes and she muttered something indecipherable. “What!” I said curious for an answer. She said “ I used to have a brother.” I had all of the answers I needed. Now I have a new questions, how will I ever go home? 2/14/2018 0 Comments 6 Word Stories1. Baby's out, loud scream, she flatlined.
